Biography

There is nothing “typical” about Eliesel: not his talents, not his ability to overcome adversity and certainly not his ability to lend a helping hand for the advancement of his community.

On the 11th of January 1999, a rare gem illuminated the lives of two humble souls. With an infectious smile and a radiating personality, there was no doubt that Eliesel was destined for greatness.

His positivity can be attributed to his humble beginnings. Eliesel is honoured to be his mother’s first son. He was immersed in a disciplinary upbringing which included participating in church and school activities. Through this medium, he developed the personal mantra “What we do, does not define who we are. What defines us, is how well we rise after falling”- Bob Hoskins.

His life experiences have become core motivators for thrusting Eliesel into the world of music.

His vocal finesse is heavily influenced by a multicultural melody of styles. Since the pre-adolescent discovery of his talents, Eliesel has been a prominent figure in his community and has partnered with several departments under the Nevis Island Administration (The Department of Youth, Nevis Cultural Development Foundation, Community Development & The Department Gender Affairs) to perform at a plethora of Diplomatic affairs and National Festivals, some of which include:

  • Nevis Blues Festival
  • Vision 2021 & 2022
  • Kitts Gospel Music Festival
  • Shekinah Dance Theatre’s Dance Recital
  • Rhythmz Dance Theatre’s Dance Recital

Eliesel has also performed alongside musical legends such as Donnie McClurkin, Marvia Providence, Joel Murray (Positive), Samuel Medas, Dj Nicholas and Prodigal Son.

He is especially privileged to have been mentored by eminent musicians: Lanny Dore, Carmella Lawrence, Venelle Powell and Deslyn Williams-Johnson. Through their expert guidance, Eliesel has already achieved significant laurels which include:

  • The 25 Most Remarkable Teens Award in the category of “Music and Courage to Overcome”
  • Winner of the 2019/2020 Gospel Song & Dance Explosion.

On the 26th of October 2023, he received the Youth Impact Award in the category of “Performing Arts”. As part his duties as the recipient of this prestigious award, Eliesel executed vocal training classes with a focus group of non-national students (Spanish speaking) within the St. John’s Community.

He is a multi-faceted individual. In addition to singing, Eliesel has a passion for playing the piano. He is enrolled in the Nevis Music Academy with Mr. Ruvidson Morton, with the intent to invest his time in voice training for youth.

He is talented, family-oriented, self-less, ambitious and a positive role model. He is Eliesel Dorset-Ramirez!
