Born on January 4th, 2004, to Louise and Sherwin Mitchell, Shadelle Ashanté Mitchell entered the world with a vibrant spirit and purposeful drive. The youngest of four, she pursued her education from St. Thomas’ Pre-School to Nevis Sixth Form College.
Shadelle’s love for the stage began at age four with her debut in The Prince and Princess Show, where she placed third runner-up. That early experience helped her grow from a shy child into a confident young woman, igniting a passion for pageantry and performance. She went on to place second runner-up in the 2018 St. Thomas’ Festival and first runner-up in the 2019 Ms. Dainty Pageant.
Pageantry continues to be a key part of her journey, but the true reward lies in the connections she makes and the personal growth she experiences. She believes performing arts bring light to life and considers her mother Louise, who raised four children alone is her greatest inspiration.
Now competing in the Miss Cultura Pageant, Shadelle sees this as an opportunity to pursue her dreams with grace and determination. Guided by the belief that effort fuels inspiration, she embraces challenges with confidence and poise.
Aspirations in fashion design fuel her creativity. Shadelle hopes to become a professional designer, viewing fashion as an art that celebrates life: “A great dress can make you remember what is beautiful about life.”
Her guiding quote, “Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success,” reminds her that setbacks are simply part of the journey to success.
