Biography - Akeda Nisbett

Akeda Nisbett, a charismatic and driven 18-year-old, exemplifies confidence, intellect, and creativity. A distinguished scholar from St. Thomas Primary, Charlestown Secondary, and Nevis Sixth Form College, she has earned top honors, including the Premier’s Excellence Award and the Federation’s Top Candidate in Office Administration.

Her talents extend beyond academics into pageantry and performance, having won the Your Closet Colored Flower Modeling Contest (2024) and completed A Taste of Hollywood Acting Master Class. She actively engages in the Nevis Literary Debating Society and is a prolific poet and writer, contributing to Poets in the Square and Bloom Where You’re Planted – Writers Cohort. Akeda has addressed key societal issues at the CTO Human Resource Conference, OECS Commission Video Project, and National Youth Congress.

Community service defines Akeda’s journey, from volunteering at the Bank of Nevis Inter-School Championship and Nevis Mango Festival to performing with the Oualie Rhythmz Steelpan Orchestra. As a guest speaker at the Youth Impact Award and Summer Job Attachment Programme, she continually inspires her peers.

Determined to promote Nevis globally, Akeda champions creative marketing, elevating the island’s cultural scene through theater, film, dance, and music. Her passion for storytelling and travel fuels her mission to craft immersive tourism experiences. Already embedded in the hospitality industry, she works at Four Seasons Resort and Indian Summer, living her belief: “Marketing yourself is essential if you want to open doors for opportunity.”
