Biography - Joestan Eddy

Born on the 14th day of September  2001, this culinary virtuoso known as Joestan Eddy made his abundant entrance into the world, destined to stir hearts and skillets alike.

 

With hands seasoned by fire and a soul steeped in spices, he would come to master not just the art of cooking, but the language of comfort, passion, and unforgettable taste.

 

With roots watered by the close-knit community of West Farm, Joestan grew, steeped in the rich aromas and traditions of a family bound by the legacy of exceptional cooking. From an early age, Joestan found his rhythm not in music or sport, but in the quiet poetry of the kitchen where ancestral recipes met innovation, and every dish became a story.

 

A proud graduate of Verchilds High School, it was there that his passion for culinary arts truly took flight. Fueled by encouragement and curiosity, Joestan began refining his craft with purpose, ultimately transforming his love for food into a dynamic professional career. Today, he stands at the helm of Perennial Earthly Botanical Delights (formerly Joshie’s), where he serves as CEO and private catering chef. Specializing in bespoke plant-based cuisine, he crafts experiences that not only nourish the body but awaken the senses and honour the earth.

 

Joestan’s journey has been seasoned by prestigious competitions including the Youth Empowerment High School Cook-offs (2018, 2019) and the Hon. Jeffery Hanley Cook-off and Fish Fry (2024). Each stage has sharpened his skill, elevated his artistry, and connected him with culinary creatives who share his mission: to ignite a culture of healthy living and sustainability through food.

 

Beyond the kitchen, ‘Mr. Abundance’ as he is also known is an avid gardener, hiker, and advocate for green living. His connection to nature is not a pastime, it is a philosophy. He believes in the sacred cycle of planting, growing, harvesting, and creating. Joestan sees food as a bridge between human wellness and environmental harmony.

 

As an esteemed delegate in this years Mr. Kool competition, Joestan stands not only as a chef, but as a visionary, a young man who utilises his platform to promote intentional living, creative expression, and holistic growth.

 

 His campaign, “Rooted in Purpose, Seasoned for Greatness,” champions the idea that with the right mindset, we can all transform our lives, uplift our communities, and leave a legacy worth savoring.
