Elle Nielsen is an outgoing, goal-oriented 24 year-old, pursuing her dream as a professional dancer with a focus on choreography. Elle began her dancing career at the age of three, continuously growing as a dancer under the direction of some of St. Croix, USVI finest dance teachers. She has performed with various local dance groups including the Caribbean Dance School (11 years), Point Dance Academy (4 months) and as a company member and junior instructor at Cruzan Dance, Inc. (7 years). She is a currently a fitness instructor employed at one of New York’s largest gym franchise, a member of the performance based dance company Dance Works NYC, was a dance instructor at BRMJ Dance Studio, worked as a dance instructor in the Team Up programs year round, a member of the Diamond Squad Dance Company, and has worked with various local artists in the city of Jacksonville and New York. Elle firmly believes in being a well-rounded individual. Along with fulfilling the constant determination as a dance major she graduated Cum Laude from Jacksonville University receiving her BFA in dance and is also a proud member of the illustrious organization of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Two summers ago she successfully auditioned for the Urban Bush Women Professional Dance Company based in Brooklyn, New York, and will continue strive to be on the face of the world renowned company.
Elle has had the honor of proudly representing the U.S. Virgin Islands as Miss Hal Jackson’s Talented Teen 2008 in both the International ( top ten finalist) and Caribbean (1st runner up, and Best Talent) scholarship pageants, captured the title of Miss Omega Psi Phi at the fraternity’s annual scholarship pageant in 2014 at the Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Florida. Recently, Elle won 1st place and was deemed top elite for the adult contemporary category at the KAS dance competition. She created a middle school dance team named F2R (Force to Reckon) and they performed locally around the city of Jacksonville. Being that Miss Nielsen has had the opportunity of working with all age groups and has taught all levels of education in the school system, her future aspirations is to obtain her MFA degree in choreography. She has continuously expanded her dance activities throughout the St. Croix, Jacksonville, and New York community by choreographing and performing for fundraising, major, and local events. Harriet Tubman said “every great dream begins with a dreamer, always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world”. Elle has embraced that philosophy through the pursuit of her passion, which is her dream of dance excellence.
